Welcome to the 2018 Joondalup Festival.
The region’s largest cultural event enters its 20th year and fittingly the Festival theme Perform Create Reflect celebrates the proud history of the City of Joondalup, whilst encouraging the community to come together in a series of engaging cultural activities that offer opportunities to meet, exchange ideas and foster community spirit.
Named the Best Community Event in WA at the 2014 and 2015 Australian Event Awards, the festival will again provide an opportunity for tens of thousands of festival-goers to access world-class cultural and artistic events.
International offerings in 2018 include the incredible hand-to-hand acrobatics of Kate and Pasi (Finland), a colourful and captivating ephemeral installation by Eric Rieger aka HOT TEA (USA) and the hilarious four-man circus performers Quatuor Stomp (Quebec, Canada).
The Joondalup Festival also remains firmly connected to the Western Australian arts sector and this year will feature the world premiere of ONE TRiBE – an Aboriginal ceremony and ritual for all the senses.
Devised by local cultural leader Dennis Simmons and presented by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, ONE TRiBE will be staged as the sun sets over
